Ford Escape sales decreased 6 percent to 72,398 units in the second quarter of 2019, not great results given the ongoing changes in consumer purchase dynamics where car buyers strongly favor utility vehicles like the Escape over traditional vehicle types, like sedans. However, declining Escape sales also make sense given that the current-generation Escape has reached the end of its lifecycle, and the all-new, 2020 Escape is just around the corner.
So, in what is clearly an effort to incentivize shoppers to buy the current model rather than wait for the next-gen vehicle to launch, a Ford discount reduces the price of the 2019 Escape by 20 percent in August 2019, which is more than the $3,750 discount in July.
The nationwide Ford discount offers on the 2019 Escape for August 2019 are as follows:

The 20 percent Ford discount as it applies to an Escape SE FWD model equipped with the 200A package and 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine reduces the price of said model by $5,522 to $22,073. Meanwhile, $3,925 Ford discount reduces the starting price of a 2019 Ford Escape SEL to $25,495, making it almost as affordable as a regularly-priced, base S model.
