2021 Ford Super Duty, Medium Duty Trucks Recalled Over Fuel Filter Leak

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, F-650, and F-750 vehicles equipped with Ford’s 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine over a fuel filter leak.

The defect: in affected vehicles, a small void may be present in the top-center of the vehicle’s underhood secondary fuel filter cap, which may progress to a pinhole over time, allowing fuel to leak from the top of the secondary fuel filter.

The hazards: a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire or injury.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: secondary fuel filter cap.

Affected vehicles: select 2021 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 trucks built at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant between December 1^st, 2020, and January 8^th, 2021, and the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant from December 1^st, 2020, through January 7^th, 2021, as well as F-650 and F-750 trucks built at the Ohio Assembly Plant between December 1^st, 2020, and December 22^nd, 2020.

Number of vehicles affected: 19,697 vehicles, consisting of:

• 8,891 F-250 models
• 5,881 F-350 models
• 1,628 F-450 models
• 2,506 F-550 models
• 263 F-600 models
• 144 F-650 models
• 384 F-750 models

The fix: dealers will replace the primary and secondary fuel filters, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin February 21^st, 2022. The Ford reference number for this recall is 22S01.
