The first-generation Ford Mustang was a smash hit with the public from the day it debuted, and that same pony car continues to live on as one of the more iconic automotive models in history. As a result, we’ve seen the meteoric rise of the restomod Mustang as well, with units ranging from reproduction Bullitts to continuation cars with more modern powertrains, suspension systems, and amenities. However, those types of models can be quite pricey, which makes this restomodded 1968 Ford Mustang up for grabs at Bring a Trailer a bit more attractive.
This particular 1968 Ford Mustang was just treated to a redo back in 2021, a job that involved replacing the original body panels with new, reproduction components. Those new parts were then coated with Acapulco Blue paint and white over-the-top stripes, which are accented by features including hood-mounted turn signals, LED headlights and taillights, a front spoiler, fastback louvers, and a set of 17-inch Trans Am Race Engineering Superlite wheels wrapped with 245/45 front and 275/40 rear Toyo Proxes 4 Plus tires.
Inside the cabin, the mix of old and new continues with the addition of Procar adjustable lumbar front bucket seats, Kilmat sound insulation, a roll bar, Vintage Air air conditioning, a Pioneer infotainment system, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and Kicker speakers. Underneath, the classic pony car has been treated to a Mustangs to Fear independent front suspension, QA1 double adjustable coilovers, an MTF watts link rear suspension, EPAS Performance electric power steering, and Wilwood brakes.
Those upgrades will certainly come in handy thanks to the fact that this 1968 Ford Mustang is equipped with the modern-day, third-generation 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, which was factory-rated to produce 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 9-inch rear end with a Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential and 3.50 gears. Overall, this first-gen Mustang is a nicely modernized build that doesn’t take things too far, making it an interesting target for anyone in the market for such a combination.

Man, that is HOT! Great color combo, too.
It needs a little more modernization in the interior like, better stereo and hvac controls with a more modern steering wheel and steering wheel controls. As for safety, anti lock brakes and traction control would be great.
SWEET ride.
Nice!!!!!
