The Ford Performance catalog has long offered a number of crate engines to choose from, a list that includes the 5.2L V8 Voodoo engine used in the S550-generation Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R, the 3.3L V6 Duratec powerplant, and the 7.3L V8 Megazilla, to name just a few recent additions. Now, those seeking a ready-to-roll crate engine for their next cool build have a couple of new options to chose from – the fourth-generation 5.0L V8 Coyote Aluminator offerings, which have just been added to the Ford Performance catalog.
There are two versions of the Gen 4 Aluminator to choose from, both of which are suited for different kinds of applications. The first is intended for customers that want to leave their new V8 naturally-aspirated, as it features a higher 12.0:1 compression ratio. It’s fitted with a vast array of performance goodies, however, including Mahle forged pistons and H-beam connecting rods, ARP hardware, a forged steel crank, and the stock Mustang GT cams, all stuffed in the OEM 2024 Mustang aluminum block. As-is, output comes in at 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.
Next up, we have a version of the Gen 4 Aluminator designed for those that intend to supercharge or turbocharge their new V8. The SC variant as it’s known has a lower compression ratio of 9.5:1, making it perfect for boosted applications, though it’s otherwise essentially identical to the higher-compression version. Ford didn’t provide any output figures for this crate engine, but they should come in a bit less due to its lower compression.
These two new Aluminator powerplants are now available in the Ford Performance catalog, with the low-compression version listed under part number M-6007-A50NAD and the higher-compression engine under part number M-6007-A50SCD. Both retail for $15,000, and both include just about everything one needs to get them up and running, save for a harness, PCM, alternator, and exhaust manifolds, too.
