2018-2025 Ford Models Recalled Over Missing Air Bag Label

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2020-2025 Ford Explorer, 2020-2025 Lincoln Aviator, 2020-2024 Ford Escape, 2020-2024 Lincoln Corsair, 2018-2024 Ford F-150, 2018-2024 Ford Expedition, and 2018-2024 Lincoln Navigator models over an issue with missing air bag labels.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the air bag warningmay be missing from the dashboard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirement Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”

The hazards: without a label that shows the proper restraint usage guidelines, the occupants may have an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Affected vehicles: select 2020-2025 Explorer models built between April 26th, 2019, and August 27th, 2024, Aviator crossovers produced between May 2nd, 2019, and June 13th, 2024, 2020-2024 Escape models built between July 29th, 2019, and September 13th, 2024, Corsair models produced from July 23rd, 2019, and August 19th, 2024, 2018-2024 F-150 pickups built between June 7th, 2017, and October 21st, 2024, Expedition SUVs built between October 30th, 2017, and October 1st, 2024, and Navigator models built between November 4th, 2017, and October 16th, 2024.

Number of vehicles affected: 27,678

The fix: Ford will mail owners the warning labels, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on December 16th, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24C39.
