With 26 seasons and more than 300 episodes under its belt, it’s safe to say that the animated TV series South Park is one of the more successful shows of all time, and it has weaved its way into pop culture along that journey in a big way. Though it isn’t a car show by any means, South Park has featured a number of memorable vehicles over those years, too – many of them coming from The Blue Oval itself. Now, one of those models – a 2015 Ford Transit – is going to be memorialized in diecast form.
GreenLight Collectibles has reached a deal with the folks behind South Park that will actually result in the creation of four new die-cast models – the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria owned by the character Mr. Mackey, a 1983 Chevy K10 pickup, the 2015 Ford Transit otherwise known as the “Mr. Fix It” service van, and another 1999 Ford Crown Victoria that’s used by the South Park Police to patrol those animated streets. These new models will only add to what is a long list of Ford vehicles – as well as those featuring Blue Oval powertrains – offered by GreenLight.
For now at least, it’s unclear when these new South Park models might launch, but we imagine that GreenLight will release more information on that fairly soon, as is usually the case. In the meantime, TV, movie, and Ford fans can already purchase a wide array of famous rides that have been replicated in die-cast form from the same company. That list includes the 1946 Ford Super De Luxe that starred in the popular TV show Home Improvement, the 1986 Ford Taurus from the movie Tommy Boy, and the handful of vintage Ford convertibles that appeared in the iconic film Grease.
