The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD shocked the world when it debuted quite some time ago as the ultimate road-going pony car – one that’s more powerful and more capable on the track than any that preceded it. The Ford Mustang GTD will be sold in various guises as well, with two of them being revealed thus far – the Carbon Series, as well as the Spirit of America, the latter of which pays homage to Craig Breedlove, the legendary land speed racer who piloted his own Spirit of America to a number of records. Now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that another Ford Mustang GTD variant is in the works, too.

That variant is the Ford Mustang GTD Spirit of USPS edition, which – like the Spirit of America – is another way the automaker plans to pay homage to American ingenuity in a very different way. In this case, the Spirit of USPS is also designed to highlight Ford’s budding relationship with the United States Postal Service, as that latter agency has purchased some E-Transit vans as of late, along with the new Next-Generation Delivery Vehicle (NGDV) built by Oshkosh Defense that utilizes an array of Blue Oval parts.

The Ford Mustang GTD Spirit of USPS edition will be unique from the rest of the lineup in a variety of ways, sporting the USPS logo on both doors, along with blue and white accents inside and out – much like the Spirit of America. Even more interesting is the fact that this special model will include a Stamps.com account already embedded in the vehicle’s SYNC 4 interface – a feature that GTD buyers have been overwhelmingly asking for – which enables them to produce package labels via a glovebox-mounted printer.

Unlike other GTD models, the lucky few that are able to get their hands on Spirit of USPS model will be required to configure their cars at their local post office, rather than online via a special configurator, and there will be loads of special options to choose from – including a “Priority Mail” delivery service that neatly packages that machine in a giant white box and drops it in one’s driveway in two days or less. Those buyers will also have to place a $50,000 deposit on the Spirit of USPS, which will have a starting price of $500,000 and is slated to debut in late 2025.

If one hasn’t figured it out by now, the Ford Mustang GTD Spirit of USPS is just part of our annual April Fools’ Day content, and will never see the light of day – at least, not that we know of, but we suppose you can never say never these days!
