This past February, Ford announced that its off-road-focused Tremor brand would be heading to Brazil in 2025, marking the very first time customers in that part of the world could go out and buy such a thing. We later learned that this launch consisted of two products – the Ford Maverick Tremor and Ford F-150 Tremor. Such a move made perfect sense given the fact that the F-150 Tremor has been on sale in the South American country of Argentina for a while now, and recently, The Blue Oval kicked off this new Ford Tremor expansion in a special way.
Recently, a group of journalists were invited to test drive the new South American Ford Tremor lineup, but that event didn’t take place on paved roads or in some curated off-road park. Rather, they headed out to Villa La Angostura, a resort town with mountains, lakes, and forests, as well as snow-covered peaks. The group met up at the Hotel Correntoso and proceeded to travel along the Seven Lakes route, experiencing a variety of terrain and enabling them to get a great feel for how the Ford Tremor family performs in all kinds of conditions.
The Ford F-150 Tremor – which just went on sale in Brazil last week – is quite similar to its U.S.-based counterpart, and comes equipped with with its signature orange accents throughout, air intakes in the hood, front and rear tow hooks, a skid plate, “Tremor” badging, and 18-inch wheels wrapped with General Grabber AT 275/70 tires. In terms of powertrains, the Brazilian F-150 Tremor is only available with one – the naturally-aspirated 5.0L V8 Coyote engine – which sends 405 horsepower to either the rear or all four wheels via the 10-speed automatic transmission.
As for the Maverick Tremor, it too closely resembles the one that Americans have been able to purchase for a couple of years now. That means it’s fitted with a unique front bumper with an improved approach angle, front skid plates, body color door handles, Tremor fender badges and box decals, 17-inch machined-face Tarnished Dark Aluminum wheels with orange-painted pockets, 235/65R17 all-terrain tires, and Tremor Orange accents on the fender vents, tow hooks, and front grille.
