Production of the fastest and most capable pony car ever – the Ford Mustang GTD – kicked off earlier this year, with deliveries slated to begin in Q2. That process has officially begun as well, and we’ve seen production figures for the Mustang GTD climb in the ensuing months, too. Multimatic produced two Ford Mustang GTD models in January, none in February, three in March, one in April, and 10 in May, but things ramped up in a big way in June, it seems.

According to FoMoCo’s June sales report, Multimatic produced a grand total of 31 Ford Mustang GTD models last month, which is by far its highest total to date. That figure also brings the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD production total for the year thus far up to 47 total units.

The lucky folks that have the means to purchase a Ford Mustang GTD and were approved to do so have access to a special configurator for that model, as Ford Authority recently reported, and one buyer gave us an inside look at that process – along with the options customers can choose from. The Ford Mustang GTD terms of sale include a commitment requiring that owners keep their cars for a minimum of two years, just like the Ford GT, which is a stipulation that aims to prevent folks from flipping those vehicles for a profit, rather than driving and enjoying them.

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD starts out at $325,000, but as Ford Authority previously reported, the Carbon Series will have an MSRP of $428,000, while the Spirit of America starts out at $429,000 – prices that don’t include any options, which can reportedly drive that number much higher. It’s worth noting that production of the Spirit of America model is limited to 20 percent of the overall GTD total, so it’s allocated, however. Regardless, those that are approved and have that kind of cash to dole out also secure bragging rights for owning one of very few production vehicles to ever lap the Nurburgring in under seven minutes.
