The newest generation Ford Ranger has only been around for a couple of years, but the mid-size pickup continues to face high demand in the many global markets in which it’s sold. That’s precisely why The Blue Oval opted to invest big in the Pacheco Assembly plant in Argentina and subsequently ramp up production to 70,000 units in 2025, which is 15 percent more than 2024 and 28 percent higher than 2023. Now, the automaker is sinking even more money into Pacheco with an eye toward boosting Ford Ranger output yet again.
Ford is now adding another $40 million to its total investments in Pacheco, which will help it increase output to 80,000 units annually, or around 30 percent more than 2024’s capacity. Around 70 percent of that total volume will go to export markets including Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and others, making the Ranger one of Argentina’s main auto exports, in general. The Ranger originally entered production at the Pacheco plant back in 1996 in two-wheel drive, regular cab configuration.
This new infusion of money will help create 150 new direct jobs at the plant – in addition to 160 that have already been added in 2025 thus far – as well as add new tools and robots to the stamping and bodywork plant. In addition to producing the Ford Ranger itself, the Pacheco plant also builds the turbocharged 3.0L V6 Power Stroke diesel engine available in that particular pickup, along with the 2.0L single- and bi-turbo diesel powerplants.
“The customer response exceeded our most optimistic expectations and drives us to take a step further to supply local and regional demand,” said Martín Galdeano, president of Ford Argentina and South America. “With this new investment we not only bring Ranger’s production capacity to a historical record level, but we also expand Ranger’s offer with a long-awaited single cabin body variant. It is a pride to see how the Ranger continues to leverage Ford’s growth in the pickup segment in South America.”

Nice that they can manufacture more Rangers in other countries but not in the U.S. I was trying to find and buy a 2024 Ranger. Nothing on the lots at that time and was taking several months to get one if ordered.
I ended up buying a 2024 Colorado with more built in features and several thousand dollars less than the Ranger. Really enjoying the Colorado.
FORD -- GET WITH THE PROGRAM !!!!!
I agree with Ben’s comment. It is difficult to locate new Ford Rangers on dealers lots in the US. What gives ?
Ditto Gentlemen.
No selection and VERY expensive.
