Ford Motor Company has filed to trademark Evos, Fathom, Fuze, Hive, and Mythic with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Ford Authority has learned.
Filed on August 5th, 2025, these applications contain the goods and services description of “Motor vehicles, namely, automobiles, trucks, vans, sport utility vehicles and structural parts therefor; Electric cars; Automobiles; Pick-up trucks; Electric vehicles, namely, electric passenger automobiles, pick-up trucks, vans, sport utility vehicles and their structural parts.”
Ford has been working on developing a new, low-cost EV platform set to underpin a variety of future models for some time now – starting with a mid-size pickup. To date, it’s been entirely unclear what this new Ford EV pickup will be called, with many speculating that it could simply utilize the Ranger nameplate. However, there are reasons to believe that Ford will revive an old model name or perhaps come up with a new one for this purpose, which could also be the case for the eight body styles its new low-cost EV platform will support. Additionally, Ford also filed a trademark application for Ranchero on the same day as these applications as well, potentially indicating that the upcoming EV pickup may utilize that name.
Mere days before The Blue Oval makes what it calls a “Model T moment” type of EV-related announcement that could mark the debut of the new Ford EV pickup, these trademark filings have appeared, in this case, for models that aren’t currently part of The Blue Oval’s lineup. The Evos name was used fairly recently on a crossover sold in China, however, though that model was renamed the Mondeo Sport just last year.

It is possible that Ford will use these names on new models, trim levels, or, maybe for its forthcoming EV platform. We do know that Ford likes to revive old names instead of creating new ones – see models like the Lightning and Maverick as examples. Additionally, Ford previously trademarked a bevy of old names like Capri, Cortina, Escort, Granada, and Orion in Australia, New Zealand, and the European Union – as well as F-200 in the U.S. In any event, the fact that all of these trademark filings appeared mere days before Ford’s upcoming major EV announcement may not be a coincidence.

This updated proposal suggests ways to cut down on battery drain.
It isn't original or perfect, but it would make for a nice classic cruiser.
It's unclear what that plan involves, for now.

Oh sure, someone's dreaming. IF they are upcoming they'd better not all be EVs.
Ford owns those names, and they can use them on any vehicle, especially electrics. You have no say at alll!
Good to have names for future products. Some don't need to worry about it as they are not buying anything and are negative about everything. Good for Ford.
A new Evos- built at the underutilized Flat Rock plants- would be a great replacement for the Escape.
