Ford Power Promise Proves Enticing For Blue Oval EV Customers

The Ford Power Promise program launched in the U.S. last September, offering retail customers that purchase or lease a Ford Mustang Mach-E, Ford F-150 Lightning, or E-Transit a free home charger when they take delivery of those vehicles, plus free standard installation. The program has since proven to be incredibly popular with EV shoppers, prompting Ford to extend it more than once – most recently, through September 30th, 2025. Now, The Blue Oval is sharing some interesting insights into just how enticing Ford Power Promise has proven to be among EV customers.

In its first 10 months of existence, 12,000 EV customers took advantage of the Ford Power Promise program in the U.S., and received complimentary home chargers and standard installation – spanning all 50 states, too. That number is equivalent to around one-third of the total number of Tesla SuperChargers in North America, impressively, but some states had a higher take rate than most.

According to the automaker, EV customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, and West Virginia opted for the free charger and installation over the $500 cash alternative at significantly higher rates, which underscores the value of home charging in places where infrastructure is a bit lacking. Ford data shows that Power Promise customers have also largely opted to charge at home – 90 percent of customers did precisely that rather than use public charging in Hawaii, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Nebraska, in fact.

Those that take advantage of the Ford Power Promise program also get 24/7 support via a team of dedicated advisors in the event that they need assistance with things such as charging, and the automaker is providing free roadside assistance, too. The program has proven so popular that Ford has extended it to EV customers in other parts of the world, too. That list includes Ireland, Canada, the UK, (where both retail and fleet customers are eligible), and Germany.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. The Vehicle to Home power option is the best option. Having a instant backup for electrical power in case the grid goes down is the most desirable feature on the F150 EV. Does this program supplement the installation of a Vehicle to Home power option (which is more expensive than a standard charger).

    1. VtoH only good if your vehicle is at home. Nat gas/propane generator a better option.
