The Ford Authority Take

Lincoln Corsair sales placed it in the top five during the second quarter of 2025 among a dozen entries in the subcompact luxury crossover space. Though Corsair sales were in the green and outsold the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Acura and Cadillac on an individual model basis, it grew slower than the segment average, causing its segment share to decrease.

Notably, one of the Corsair’s primary rivals – the Cadillac XT4 – is dead after just one generation, in spite of receiving a refresh for the 2024 model year. Here is why GM is discontinuing the Cadillac XT4.

We should also note that starting with Q2, we’re pitting the first-ever 2025 Acura ADX against the Corsair, since the RDX that we’ve historically included in the Corsair’s competitive set has moved up to the larger and more expensive D-segment.

Although the future of the Corsair itself was unclear, the subcompact luxury crossover will indeed live on for the 2026 model year much like its platform mate, the Ford Escape. Both models are built at the Louisville Assembly plant, which is to undergo retooling for EVs within the next year.

The 2026 Lincoln Corsair will be sold nationwide, unlike the 2026 Ford Escape, which will only be sold in six U.S. states due to it being equipped only with the non-California compliant emissions system.

About Lincoln Corsair

The 2025 Lincoln Corsair arrives largely unchanged from the refreshed 2023 Corsair. But it ditches Active Park Assist 2.0 and drops two paint colors, while adding two new colors – Crystal White and Harbor Gray. It also ditches Sandstone interior color but adds Light Smoked Truffle. Additionally, it loses the standard chrome roof rack side rails on Reserve and Grand Touring, and the Black Roof Rack Side Rails on Jet Appearance.

  2. I’m Completely lost. Why are you telling us about just Cadillac and Buick when there are about 10 other vehicles in that category? The Lexus NX up 15%, two BMW’s, both up. Volvo up significantly. Who cares about Cadillac lacklustre numbers.
