The 2025Â Ford Mustang GTD is a purpose-bred racer – but it’s completely street legal to boot. Deliveries of the high-performance pony have been underway since June 2025, and several unique examples of the Mustang GTD have surfaced since then. One was painted pink, which is a surprisingly fitting color – and now, the very first yellow-painted pony has been handed off to its new owner.
According to the Ford Mustang GTD registry, the first example wearing yellow paint was recently delivered. It’s not clear if the color is a Ford hue, or if it’s an extended color, meaning it was selected specifically by the customer, effectively making it one-of-a-kind. There’s no word on where this Mustang GTD was delivered or who its owner is, but it’s sure to turn heads out on the road and on the track, no matter where in the world it’s being stabled.
Ford Mustang GTD buyers had to jump through all sorts of hoops to acquire the blisteringly fast muscle car, starting with an application to be approved by the automaker in the first place. Once approved, they had to place a hefty deposit to secure their spot on the order books. Pricing for the 2025 Mustang GTD starts at around the $325,000 mark, but depending on which variant and options are selected, it can run well into the $400,000 range.
Part of the deal is maintaining ownership of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD for at least two years. The Blue Oval doesn’t want its buyers turning around and selling the vehicle for a massive profit right out of the gate. It’s not a surprise, considering a similar system was in place for the Ford GT.

Some might consider that a small price to pay for a (technically) street-legal vehicle that can lap Nürburgring in under seven minutes. With a supercharged 5.2L V8 and 815 horsepower on tap, it’s no surprise that the Mustang GTD appeals to the performance crowd, and is headed for new owners such as big name YouTubers and Hennessey Performance founder and CEO John Hennessey.
