Ford has launched the next-generation Explorer crossover SUV for the 2020 model year. The all-new Explorer features a new design plus the latest technological innovations. Most notably, the new model switches from a front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive-based configuration (thanks to the CD6 platform), with all-wheel drive remaining optional.
When compared to the last-gen, 2019 model, the all-new 2020 Ford Explorer adds six new exterior colors to its color palette: Star White, Silver Spruce, Iconic Silver, Atlas Blue, Rich Copper, and Rapid Red. Here’s our first look at the new Rapid Red.
Assigned order code D4, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat is one of two tinted clearcoat options available for the 2020 Explorer, with the other being Rich Copper.
The Rapid Red color is not included in the base price of the all-new 2020 Explorer, and costs an additional $395. It is available in conjunction with all interior color combinations and all trim levels except for Base.
