Production of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning officially began at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center last month, though the first model year for the EV pickup is already completely sold out. However, Ford has already nearly doubled its planned production capacity for the new model to 150,000 units by mid-2023 as it works to fill all of the 200,000 reservations it received for the F-150 Lighting before the automaker stopped taking them.
