With Ford F-150 Lightning deliveries well underway amid heavy demand, that particular model has also been a mainstay on Kelley Blue Book’s Brand Watch report – along with the Ford Maverick – where it has been the most considered EV pickup for the past two consecutive quarters. Now, the Q2 Brand Watch report has been released, and the Ford F-150 Lighting has once again retained its spot atop the consideration list in terms of all-electric pickup models, as well as moving up the overall electrified vehicle ranks, too.
In Q1, the F-150 Lightning ranked as the seventh most considered electrified model on the market, but in Q2, it came in fifth place overall. Once again, the Lightning was the only EV pickup that made KBB’s top ten, which is otherwise dominated by hybrids and various Tesla models. This past quarter, the list was topped by the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, followed by the Honda CR-V Hybrid, Toyota Highlander Hybrid, and Tesla Model 3, while the Toyota Camry Hybrid, Honda Accord Hybrid, Tesla Model Y, and Tesla Model S all fell behind the Ford F-150 Lighting this time around.
The Kelley Blue Book Brand Watch Report is a consumer perception survey that also weaves in shopping behavior to determine how a brand or model stacks up with its segment competitors on a dozen factors key to a consumer’s buying decision. KBB produces separate Brand Watch reports for non-luxury and luxury brands each quarter.
The F-150 Lighting is getting substantial price increases across the board for the 2023 model year, ranging from $6,000 to $8,500 depending on trim, as Ford Authority reported earlier this month. Other changes include a small range boost for pickups equipped with the standard range battery, a new feature dubbed Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, and a police-focused variant dubbed the SSV.
