The Ford Transit Courier has been on sale in Europe and Mexico for years now, and slots in the automaker’s lineup just below the Transit Connect, riding on the same Ford B platform as the Ford Fiesta. Thus, a new, redesigned version of the Ford Tourneo Courier – which is the passenger version of the Transit Courier – is certainly due as well. Last September, Ford Authority spotted a next-generation Ford Transit Courier driving around wearing Puma-like placeholder camouflage, followed by another prototype with production bodywork in January. Now, Ford Authority has spotted a next-gen Ford Tourneo Courier for the very first time in Michigan.

In terms of styling, this Tourneo Courier looks very much like the previously-spied Transit Courier, which isn’t a huge surprise, but notable nonetheless. Though both are covered in heavy camo, we can clearly see a nearly identical front end design, with similar headlights and upper and lower front grilles. This Ford Tourneo Courier is also equipped with some sort of apparatus on the hood and sides of the vehicle, however.

The next-gen Tourneo Courier is clearly sharper in terms of design than the current model, and here, we get a good look at its new, boxy shape, as well as part of its updated front fascia, headlights, and vertical taillights. However, with heavy camo covering every section of the van, it’s difficult to discern any of its finer styling details.

Regardless, the new Tourneo Courier is just one of many new models destined for Europe in the coming years, a group that includes seven all-electric vehicles set to launch in that region by 2024 – a pair of crossovers built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, a Puma EV, the Transit Custom one-ton van and the Tourneo Custom multi-purpose vehicle.

We’ll have more on the Tourneo Courier and the entire Transit family soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Transit news and continuous Ford news coverage.

  • The unusual protrusions on the doors are where the wings bolt on. Those on the hood are for the front canards.

  • I wish they would bring them here. There is no other van that size in the USA. I particularly would like it in a hybrid.
