Since its launch in Europe a few years ago, the Ford Puma has been a mainstay on the list of that region’s best-selling new vehicles, and as such, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that The Blue Oval has a refresh planned for the crossover in the 2024 model year. Ford Authority spotted a 2024 Ford Puma ST prototype out testing this past summer wearing heavy camo, but looking further down the road, the automaker also plans on transitioning its entire European lineup to EVs by 2030 or sooner. An all-electric Puma has been in development for some time now for both Europe and Australia, and now, Ford Authority has spotted the 2024 Ford Puma EV out testing for the very first time.
As was the case with the previously-spotted 2024 Puma ST, this EV variant is also covered in heavy camo, concealing virtually everything. However, it’s very clear that we are indeed looking at a Puma, one that will continue to utilize the same platform as its ICE counterparts, albeit modified to accommodate a battery pack and an electric motor. As for changes that might be introduced for the refresh, it appears a new headlight design may be in order, as the units featured on the tester appear to be slightly different than the current model.
As for what we can expect from the 2024 Ford Puma EV, the automaker has released no details on this forthcoming model, though the recently-unveiled 2024 Ford Transit Courier could offer some clues, as rides on the same platform as the small crossover – not Volkswagen’s MEB platform, which underpins the Ford Explorer EV and an as-yet-unnamed crossover recently spotted testing by Ford Authority as well.
The new E-Transit Courier is powered by a single, front-mounted 100kW electric motor and will support DC fast charging speeds up to up to 100 kW, which could wind up powering the 2024 Ford Puma EV, too. The Ford Puma EV will also be built alongside the E-Transit Courier at the Craiova Assembly plant in Romania, where the ICE versions of both models are already produced. Rumors suggest that the Puma EV will utilize a battery pack around 55 kWh in size, giving it roughly 230 miles of range, but it’s quite possible that other variants – including one with more than a single electric motor – could be in the works as well.

I love the looks of the Ford Puma. And an all electric version sounds great. I hope that ford will sell it in the USA.

So import it from Romania where the Puma is made…first bring in the hybrid asap, then add the EV when it’s ready! Ford badly needs this vehicle in its lineup!
Farley had said a couple years back that he wanted to bring the Puma stateside.
I agree 100% with importing the EV and Hybrid versions of the Puma to the US. Love to have that option to the Honda's and Toyota's of the world.
