Cherry Hill, Former Henry Ford Estate, Is For Sale

As is the case with many former households belonging to famous folks, residences that were once occupied by Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford – or just attached to him in some capacity – have garnered their fair share of press as of late. A few years ago, the Ford Homes Historic District was created to preserve some of the historic homes once occupied by Blue Oval workers, and back in 2022, the Ford winter estate in Fort Myers, Florida, made news after it managed to escape the wrath of Hurricane Ian mostly unscathed. Now, the former Henry Ford estate known as the Cherry Hill House has joined this list, as it’s currently up for sale.

The origin of the Cherry Hill House dates back to 1734, when the Sterling Brothers purchased the land that it sits on. However, it later flourished under the ownership of Henry and Clara Ford, after which the current estate was erected in 1870. However, as one might imagine, Cherry Hill has undergone quite a few changes over the years, including the addition of a four-bay, 1,184 square-foot conditioned dog trot garage back in February of this year.

Regardless, Cherry Hill stands as a historic home that features 4,215 square-feet of interior space and an additional 2,022 square-feet of porch space, and blends modern luxury with vintage features as part of a recent renovation. It offers up some nice views of Lake Clara, Ford Field, and the River Club golf course as well.

The new owner of Cherry Hill will have plenty of space to set up shop, as it features four suites, a large office, a beverage nook, a scullery, a gourmet kitchen, and a separate owner’s entrance, while the upper porch is a bit of a “starry sanctuary,” according to the listing. However, as one might imagine, this historic piece of real estate isn’t exactly cheap, as it’s currently listed for a cool $4.495 million.
