In recent years, the FordPass Rewards program has undergone quite a few changes, with one of the biggest stemming from the arrival of the FordPass Rewards Visa card back in 2020. That credit card offered owners several unique benefits, including everyday special financing, reduced cost of ownership via Points redeemable toward vehicle sales and service at Ford dealerships, member-exclusive benefits, and Ford-focused card customization options. Now, however, Ford has announced that it will no longer be taking applications for the FordPass Rewards Visa card.
The automaker sent out an email to FordPass members informing them of this change. Points and tier status earned from using the credit card will be retained through May 27th, 2025, after which they will no longer be awarded for using it to purchase things or make payments. Those that have a FordPass Rewards Visa will receive additional communication from First National Bank of Omaha with additional details, but it’s unclear what sort of future that particular credit card faces as of now – and what kind of benefits it may or may not offer cardholders in the future.
Along with nixing the FordPass Rewards Visa card, The Blue Oval is also changing its expiration policy for rewards points on June 3rd, 2025. Effective that day, points earned by FordPass members that haven’t earned or used them for 18 months will expire. This is a big change from just last year, when Ford replaced Milestones with Tier Activities, a move that was designed to help members move up the ranks and accumulate points faster.
Last July, Ford altered its rewards points policy yet again – at least, in terms of updating when those points expired. Previously, users had 24 months to use those points before they expired if they hadn’t earned any additional points, completed a Tier Activity, or redeemed points, but that was shortened to 18 months – albeit only for users that didn’t also have a FordPass Rewards Visa credit card. Now that this card has essentially been discontinued, all points will expire after 18 months if users don’t accumulate more or use the ones they have.

Not surprised. After I bought an Aviator for my wife and a F-150 for myself they sent me an invite email to get a card. I filled it out and was rejected! I paid cash for the vehicles, have an 890 credit score and that didn’t matter. I called to find out why I was denied and they in a matter of words said my score was too high and because I paid all my bills on time there insufficient data to grant me a card. In essence, no way for them to make any money on me.
Another con job from FOMOCO. I’m a million $ + customer , and was advised to get a Ford Visa , too. Keep you so called points safe. We did that, then the Ford Dealerships , started charging 3% just to use it. Wiped out the earned point value altogether . Jim Farley should be ashamed , and fired.
You lost a very good customer 4 EVER. And I’m hopeful many more to follow. Ford continues to lie to there coveted customers , Deceive us, and run a Loan Shark mentality. I hope in the near future , someone with enough money SUES YOU, for false advertising , and breach on contract. These actions will cost you either way .
Yeah, I fell for the non-stop nagging to get one last year. I’ve had a GM MasterCard for over 30 years. The Ford card is junk comparatively and Bank of Omaha is now nagging me to use it, or face consequences. I was all excited about the 11,000 sign-up points until I found out they were worth about $50.
I am very disappointed i used this to pay for nearly all of my services.
I am surprised and very disappointed. We had focused most of our credit card spending to the Ford Pass card for the benefits, which for us was free oil changes for our three Fords and some minor parts purchases, along with the $200 credit card credit each year.
Jim Farley is the worst CEO Ford has had for a while. Not just because of this, but the lack of attention on the products quality and his misguided focus on the elect vehicle. Hybrids should have been the focus. That is a much better answer.
Anyway, I guess I’ll need to use the 100k+ points before the end of May.
Very disappointed. Get rid of Farley!
Just purchased a new F150 last week used my points towards that came in handy said that I would get a reload for 3% for purchasing the new F150, which would’ve covered my oil changes and tires rotation for at least a year. Guess I won’t be getting that. Disappointment
Very disappointed, have 5 ford vehicles, three purchased over the last three years. Guess I will have to change to a Fidelity card
Wow. what a mistake. Ford Pass Visa actually drives owner loyalty and now its gone.
Wonder what my Ford LTV score will turn to now. Oh wait. Many may not know thats how Ford judges you as an owner and helps them to decide if they will actualy reward your loyalty and or help at all when you need help. 5 Fords in the driveway, all dealer serviced with Ford Visa pushing some savings. I get it, all companies reserve the right to change or end programs at any time. But there is a reason GM beats the pants off Ford financially, as simple as a credit card is, its a mistake to cancel this one. The same as it was the last card they cancelled that i had through them. Bring back Mullay, Blue oval …OUT!
So what happened to all the points on my FordPass account. I logged in and it said ZERO. I was under the impression you had so long to use them after it switched to just the FNBO card. Was I wrong? Could someone please let me know
