Over the years, Ford has offered quite a few of its engines in crate form, giving enthusiasts a variety of ways to stuff a brand new powerplant in their older vehicles, or perhaps even newer projects. Most of those crate engines have been of the V8 variety, but every so often, The Blue Oval will offer something with fewer cylinders. Now, those that covet the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine found in the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor can get that same powerplant in crate form, too.

The same twin turbo 3.5L V6 EcoBoost mill found in the 2024 F-150 Raptor is now listed for sale as a crate engine in the Ford Performance catalog under part number M-6007-35TA, with a retail price tag of $9,350. Right out of the box, the high-output version of the 3.5L EcoBoost is rated to produce 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, and it touts all-aluminum construction to help shave weight as well.

This crate engine comes with a die-cast aluminum block with six-bolt press-fit main bearing caps with piston-cooling jets, dual overhead camshafts with variable timing, a 10:1 compression ratio, a fully counterweighted forged steel crankshaft, high-strength forged powder metal connecting rods with floating pins, lightweight aluminum high-strength pistons with low-friction skirt coating, a tuned composite upper and lower intake manifold, and a six-quart die-cast aluminum deep sump oil pan.

Utilizing high-pressure direct fuel injection, the Raptor-derived EcoBoost powerplant weighs in at 417 pounds, but it’s recommended that one use premium fuel, which isn’t terribly surprising. However, since there is no Ford Performance control pack available at the moment, those that purchase the crate engine will have to source their engine controls elsewhere. Regardless, it joins a crowded list of Ford crate engines that already includes the Gen4X 5.0L V8 Coyote for both manual and automatic transmissions, a supercharged Coyote, and the 7.3L V8 Godzilla.
