The Blue Oval officially unleased the Lobo for the 2025 model year, introducing high-performance, street-truck-inspired variants of the Ford Maverick and Ford F-150 for the first time in the U.S. market Thus far, both Lobo models have been well-received, praised for their out-of-the-box styling and upgrades right off the showroom floor – and we want to know if our readers are on the same page.
Let’s start with the 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo, since it was the first “wolf” to break cover in the U.S. It made its grand entrance the day after the refreshed Maverick was revealed, bringing more than just revamped looks to the popular compact pickup. The Maverick Lobo is slightly lower than the “regular” Maverick, dropped by 0.5 inches up front and 1.12 inches in the rear. It stands out from the pack thanks to its unique front bumper and grille, along with special rocker moldings and retro-style 19-inch turbofan wheels. Every Maverick Lobo gets a blacked-out roof and painted rear bumper.
The 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo is powered by the same 250 horsepower, 277 pound-feet of torque turbocharged 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost engine available in other Maverick models, but it boasts the Lobo drive mode, which turns the compact pickup into a surprisingly mean track-eating machine. Lobo mode includes torque vectoring, which is made available through the pickup’s twin-clutch rear drive unit, plus specially-tuned steering, and dual-piston front brake calipers borrowed from the Focus ST.
Then there’s the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo. This variant builds on the existing STX trim, and includes a 10-piece ground appearance package designed to lower the pickup visually. But the new package also functionally drops the truck by two inches, which makes it lower than the entry level XL trim.
It also gets a host of blacked-out exterior elements, including hood vents, exhaust, and badging, along with a unique set of 22-inch gloss black wheels. It also sports a cowl hood and unique headlights and taillights, while the molded-in-color grille makes its expression more sinister than the “regular” F-150.
Under the hood, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo exclusively uses the 5.0L Coyote V8 engine with output unchanged at 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. It invites customizers to build on its foundation, making it a prime choice for street pickup enthusiasts looking to make it into something meaner – although it’s plenty aggressive in its own right.
We want to know your thoughts – are you liking Ford’s new Lobo initiative? Or are street pickups best left to the 1980s? Let us know by voting in the poll and drop a line in the comments!
Enabling it to gain market share, too.
This is no wagon turned SHO, either.
A simple but potentially useful idea.
Sales increased 6.6 percent to 1,492,905 units during the first eight months of 2025.
It was encouraged by Ford's future EV plans.

Lobo is just another expensive wheel and stripe package all show and the same old go
needs the floor shifter that's otherwise available in most other F150 trims
