While the Ford Taurus was discontinued in the U.S. back in 2019, that nameplate lives on in other parts of the world - including China and the Middle East. In that latter region, the Ford Taurus debuted in 2022 as what was essentially a rebadged version of the Chinese Mondeo, after which it received some updates almost exactly one year ago - including the addition of a hybrid powertrain. Now, The Blue Oval is giving us our very first look at the forthcoming, all-new Ford Taurus.
FoMoCo has provided us with two teaser images of the all-new Ford Taurus, which is destined for Middle Eastern markets including the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan. On the outside, the sedan has received some styling updates with new front and rear fascias, plus new headlight and wheel designs.
The interior of the new Taurus is said to be getting some "significant" updates that include the typical color and materials changes, new seat trims, a revamped center console design, and a 13.2-inch infotainment display that's the largest in its class. That same screen touts wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with a new 360-degree camera available across the range, while the luxurious Titanium trim will receive a special B&O sound system and the Trend gets ventilated seats.
In terms of powertrains, nothing is changing in terms of the two choices available in the current Ford Taurus. Customers can choose from either the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost, which is currently rated to produce 239 horsepower and 382 Nm (282 pound-feet) of torque and is mated to the eight-speed automatic transmission, or the relatively new 1.5L hybrid, churning out a combined 138 kW, or 185 horsepower.
For now at least, The Blue Oval hasn't provided any additional details pertaining to the all-new Ford Taurus, but we expect to learn much more as we get closer to its official debut in the coming months.

This is a car I would buy. An SUV or a crossover, NEVER.
Why is this being wasted on China, especially because China favors home-market vehicles?
As asked above, is it a car or an SUV? If it’s a car Im interested…if not…when the time comes for a new vehicle consideration, I’ll be looking elsewhere.
P.S., I know Im in the minority on this, but money spends like anyone else’s. SUVs are boring to drive period. Ya can’t fit physics folks. Manufacturers have spent decades lowering vehicles closer to the ground, and there are many safety and performance reasons for this. Not to mention the aerodynamics of a brick shaped vehicle.
Agreed 100% SUVs and CUVs mostly have the styling of a box. I kinda feel sorry for the generation of vehicle stylist that just happened to be born in time to design these things. 60's great car designs , 70's same same great, 80's please help me, 90's got better, 00's getting better still, 10's dropped off a cliff SUV ville.
Doesn't say it will hit USA Market. Sad I think there's a market for it here.
I would buy this Taurus in the US when I would be looking for another sedan. Currently drive a 2014 Fusion.
Can we believe it or not, Ford Authority has been known for making this kind of stuff up, personally, I don't believe it. I won't believe it until I see them in our inventory.
You won't be seeing it in U.S. inventory because it's not coming to the U.S. As the article states, it's heading to the Middle East.
If it came to the US it could replace a lot of taurus police interceptors.
I'd love to be able to buy a 3rd taurus in the USA. It's been one of my favorite cars that Ford has produced. As a retired Ford employee it's sad we aren't able to purchase a sedan made by Ford anymore. Bring back the Taurus and it will sell.
I have been waiting for ford to release a new sedan. I have been driving a ford fusion PHEV mostly for UBER and couldn’t be more pleased with this vehicle. Now, having said that, I will believe it when I see it and at that time I will make a decision on whether to purchase it. 😁
I would buy it also, but the engine choices are terrible. I wouldn't take a hybrid for free and the twin turbo eco boosts cost so much to change out when the turbos fail that the car becomes junk. Planned obsolescence?
Great company, good products, but bad leadership.
Not very comments being written about how happy everyone is that there is no longer a sedan in the Ford line up.
Anyone see this ever : " I'm so glad Ford no longer sells Fusions or Taurus or Edge models, they weren't very good".
?
What is management doing up there !
Wake up Bill Ford - more car choices are needed with better engine choices.
Get rid of Farley, to many recalls and clueless on the Ford vehicle business !
I live in Saudi Arabia
And this new Ford Taurus 2020 for china and middle east first no one liked it cause it's Chinese made first model and 2021 have minor issues then 2022 till now no problem yet they resolved it . I drive my friend car 2023 Taurus titanium it's so nice quite comfortable and spacious inside but they diches some important things like B&O sounds system and ventilated seats and no big screen like Chinese Taurus which have better options but more expensive
By the way it's Fusion not real Taurus as before in china they called it Mondeo but in middle east name it Taurus to use old reputation of the name .
My car is Lincoln mkz 2014 reserve.
And when can we get the high performance wagon variant to thrash the M/AMG/RS Euro-trash?
Not coming to the US? Too bad. So Sad. I will keep on driving my 2015 Fusion with a 2.5L four. Great car!
