A low-supply, high-demand scenario is likely the culprit, thanks in no small part to the ongoing global microchip shortage. This likely means that buyers interested in the Ford Transit will purchase the van at full price, given that Ford has elected to withhold any sort of discount toward the purchase or lease of the van.

As evidenced above, the lack of discounts in November is certainly no surprise given that t he Ford Transit was once again the best-selling model in its segment during the third quarter of 2022, commanding a dominant 40 percent share. For comparison, the next-closest competitor, the Ram ProMaster, only accounted for 30 percent segment share.
