When the North American 2024 Ford Explorer officially debuts later this year, it will feature revised styling, a new dashboard with a larger center stack touchscreen, and other changes. As Ford Authority has extensively detailed, examples without any type of camoflauge or coverings are running around Michigan in the lead up to the reveal. More recently, two Explorer Platinum SUVs were hanging out completely exposed, without one key feature that models sold in China feature: the coast to coast LED lightbar.
On the North American 2024 Ford Explorer Platinum, there appears to be an abundant amount of chrome on the front grille, which is similar but not the same as its Chinese counterpart. Additionally, the American version has a chrome strip where the coast to coast LED lightbar exists on the Chinese model. In fact, that lightbar is featured on more than one trim in China, as the Titanium and Timberline both feature the lighting. Aside from the Chinese Explorer, the 2023 Ford Escape ST-Line Elite and Platinum both come standard with the lightbar.
So far, it seems the North American 2024 Ford Explorer will borrow styling elements from the Chinese version but adopt its own aesthetic. The liftgate will add some rear LED lighting along a horizontal strip that will also visually connect both taillamps, which seems to be a nod to the previous generation model. The rear lights have also been slightly altered from the current model. While it is currently unclear if the lineup will receive significant mechanical changes, an Active trim level is expected to appear, suggesting that some models may be deleted or shuffled around. At this point, it appears the most significant changes will take place in the cabin, with a new infotainment system and Ford BlueCruise as sure bets for 2024.

Meh! Looks exactly like the current one. Why did Ford waste time and money for camouflage on this model? Very lazy and poor effort by Ford designer. Sales will continue to fall from here. People want new not old.
