It wasn’t too terribly long ago that the refreshed 2025 Ford Maverick broke cover, bringing forth a host of updates including revised exterior styling, a larger standard infotainment screen, new tech features, the addition of the sporty Lobo variant, and a hybrid all-wheel drive option. However, the 2026 Ford Maverick won’t be carrying over without at least one big notable change of its own – the revived ability to pair front-wheel drive with the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost engine.

The 2026 Ford Maverick will indeed once again be offered with the EcoBoost powerplant and FWD after ditching it for the 2025 model year, and that combo also makes it the new, cheapest model in the lineup when purchased in XL trim – starting out at $27,145. That’s $1,000 cheaper than the standard 2.5L hybrid FWD 2026 Ford Maverick in XL form, too. The EcoBoost AWD model is a mere $1,000 more, tying the hybrid FWD model with a starting MSRP of $28,145, while the AWD hybrid costs a bit more at $30,365.

In terms of trim level updates, the 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat and Tremor no longer come with the power-sliding rear window as standard equipment – it’s now an option – which drops the MSRP of both by $350 – the Lariat hybrid now starts at $38,090, while the Tremor costs $40,645. The Lariat EcoBoost gets an even larger $920 price cut, bringing its MSRP down to $35,870. Otherwise, the power-sliding rear window is now available as a late availability option on the XLT and Lobo 402A, and a conventional spare tire is being offered as a standalone option.

The 2026 Ford Maverick is gaining two new exterior color options – Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat and Marsh Gray – and every model in the lineup is getting a complimentary one-year subscription for the Ford Connectivity Package (a seven-year alternative is available to purchase, too), and a conventional spare tire is now offered as a standalone option with increased availability. To help meet demand, Ford is boosting production capacity for popular configurations as well – XL, Hybrid, and Lariat AWD, specifically.
