Ford E-Series Sales Steady As She Goes During Q2 2025

Ford E-Series sales were steady in the United States and down slightly in Canada during the second quarter of 2025.

Ford E-Series Sales - Q2 2025 - United States

In the United States, Ford E-Series deliveries totaled 9,785 units in Q2 2025, a decrease of about 0 percent compared to 9,828 units sold in Q2 2024.

In the first six months of the year, E-Series sales decreased about 4 percent to 19,464 units.

Ford E-Series Sales - Q2 2025 - Canada

In Canada, Ford E-Series deliveries totaled 769 units in Q2 2025, a decrease of about 3 percent compared to 790 units sold in Q2 2024.

In the first six months of the year, E-Series sales increased about 13 percent to 1,570 units.

Competitive Sales Comparison (USA)

Ford E-Series sales (see running Ford E-Series sales) were essentially flat at 9,785 deliveries in Q2 2025, placing fourth among five entries when ranked by sales volume in the full-size van segment, which is comprised of passenger, cargo, and cutaway/chassis cab models.

Much like it has for over a decade now, the Ford Transit (see running Ford Transit sales) led the sales race thanks to a six percent bump to 41,059 units. The Ram ProMaster followed in second with a two percent dip to 15,144 units. The Chevy Express (see running Chevy Express sales) placed a very close third with a 61 percent leap to 15,122 units. The Blue Oval’s second entry, the Ford E-Series (see running Ford E-Series sales), took fourth, while the GMC Savana (see running GMC Savana sales) finished fifth despite a 23 percent upswing to 7,901 units.

From a segment share standpoint, The E-Series earned an 11 percent share, down one percentage point year-over-year. The Transit led with a 46 percent share, down three percentage points. The ProMaster and Express each posted a 17 percent share, down two and up five percentage points, respectively. Meanwhile, the Savana held a nine percent share, up one percentage point.

The full-size van segment expanded 11 percent to 89,011 units during Q2 2025, meaning Ford E-Series sales underperformed the segment average.

Combined sales of Ford’s two models, the Transit and E-Series, totaled 50,844 deliveries, giving The Blue Oval a majority 57 percent share here.

By comparison, sales of GM’s two vans, the Chevy Express and GMC Savana, totaled 23,023 units for a 26 percent segment share, enabling GM to outsell Ram for second place, but still well behind the Transit on an individual basis, and behind The Blue Oval vans combined. Even so, the Express and Savana posted the biggest percentage gains this quarter.

The Ford Authority Take

Ford E-Series sales were as steady as it gets during Q2 2025. Even better news is that the E-Series outsold the GMC Savana, which is an impressive feat given that the Ford is available only as a cutaway while the GMC is available in more body styles, including passenger van, cargo van, and cutaway.

Even better, combining sales of the E-Series with those of the Ford Transit gave The Blue Oval a dominant position in this space, with The Blue Oval’s share approaching 60 percent. That puts its primary rival, GM, far behind in second with the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Ford’s other primary competitor, the Ram ProMaster, actually took second place this time.

About Ford E-Series

Formerly called the Econoline van, the Ford E-Series was eventually replaced by the Transit and is now only sold as a chassis cab or stripped chassis configuration to underpin RV campers, ambulances, small buses, and other light-duty vehicles.

The current model remains largely unchanged, save for a few major updates such as the debut of the chassis cab variant five years ago.

The 2024 model year sees only minor changes. This includes the deletion of the Economy tune in favor of the naturally-aspirated Ford 7.3L V8 Godzilla engine. Moving forward, the E-Series will offer just one drivetrain calibration, with an output of 325 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, as its flex fuel capability option has also been eliminated from the lineup.

Ford E-series production will continue at the Ford Ohio Assembly plant until at least until April 2028, according to the deal that the United Auto Workers (UAW) secured with Ford.
