Ford Edge sales increased in the United States and in Mexico during the fourth quarter of 2019.

Ford Edge sales performance puts it in fourth place out of a total of 20 competitors in its segment during the fourth quarter.
The Toyota Highlander remained in first place in the segment with 59,268 units sold, commanding a segment share of 11 percent. It was trailed closely by the Jeep Grand Cherokee in second place with 57,929 sales and an 11 percent segment share. Third place went to Edge’s corporate cousins – the Ford Explorer and Ford Police Interceptor Utility. The Explorer and its police duty variant posted combined sales of 51,284 units, for 10 percent segment share.

And that’s when the Edge comes in – in fourth place in the segment, with its 37,621 deliveries and a 7 percent segment share. Though not bad, that’s quite a bit less than the segment leaders. The Edge was followed by the Chevrolet Traverse (see Chevrolet Traverse Sales) in fifth place and 33,631 deliveries and a segment share of 6 percent. It’s worth noting that the Edge was the only model in its competitive set to see sales volume grow during the quarter.
The performance enabled the Edge to post a 3 percent cumulative growth for the year. The Edge’s fourth quarter growth enabled sales volume during the complete 2019 calendar year to increase three percent.
The mainstream mid- and full-size crossover segments, comprised of CUVs with a starting price in the vicinity of $30,000, expanded nearly 9 percent to 522,562 units in Q4 2019.
The rise in Ford Edge sales during Q4 2019 is welcome news after the 6 percent sales decrease in the second quarter followed by a very positive Q3 2019,
We attribute the increase in sales of the Edge during Q4 2019 to the following factors:
Enabling it to gain market share, too.
This is no wagon turned SHO, either.
A simple but potentially useful idea.
Sales increased 6.6 percent to 1,492,905 units during the first eight months of 2025.
It was encouraged by Ford's future EV plans.

A very well rounded vehicle that is nicely done.
It could use a little bigger cargo area as some of the competitor's small CUVs are catching up there..
I wish the grill did not have such a pinched in look, though the front looks better than the Explorer or Escape for sure.
