U.S. Ford Motor Company Sales Up Seven Percent In 2023 Calendar Year

Ford Motor Company sales increased seven percent to 1,995,912 units during the 2023 calendar year in the United States. Sales increased at the Ford brand, while decreasing at Lincoln.

“In a year of challenges, from a labor strike to supply issues, our amazing lineup of gas, electric and hybrid vehicles and our fantastic dealers delivered solid growth and momentum. We have the products that customers want,” said Ford president and CEO, Jim Farley. “I am especially proud Ford remained the No. 2 EV brand in America and our next-gen, digitally advanced new EVs are on the way,” he added.

FoMoCo Sales Notes – U.S. – 2023 Calendar Year

• Total Ford Motor Company sales during 2023 increased 7.1 percent to 1,995,912 units
• The Ford F-Series was America’s best-selling truck for the 47^th year in a row and America’s best-selling vehicle for the 42^nd year in a row
  • Sales of the full-size pickup totaled 750,789 units last year, including 24,165 deliveries of the all-electric F-150 Lightning
  • In fact, the Ford F-150 Lightning was the No. 1 selling electric truck and the F-150 Hybrid (PowerBoost) was the No. 1 selling full-size hybrid truck for 2023
• Ford again was the No. 1 selling truck manufacturer in 2023, with electric, hybrid or gas-powered trucks
• Ford is America’s No. 2 Electric Vehicle brand, as Ford EV sales rose 18 percent
  • Growth came from America’s best-selling electric truck, F-150 Lightning as well as from the Mustang Mach-E
  • The Ford E-Transit was America’s best-selling electric van nameplate in 2023 on sales of 7,672, up 18 percent
• FoMoCo consolidates its position as America’s No. 1 Commercial Vehicle retailer. Ford Commercial Vans topped the sales charts for the 45^th straight year

Ford sales increased 7.47 percent to 1,914,094 units

• Ford Bronco sales decreased 9.73 percent to 105,665 units
• Ford Bronco Sport sales increased 28.06 percent to 127,476 units
• Ford E-Series sales increased 33.61 percent to 42,957 units
• Ford E-Transit sales increased 18.03 percent to 7,672 units
• Ford EcoSport sales decreased 91.41 percent to 2,508 units
• Ford Edge sales increased 24.14 percent to 106,098 units
• Ford Escape sales increased 2.62 percent to 140,968 units
• Ford Expedition sales increased 18.37 percent to 73,396 units
• Ford Explorer sales decreased 10.05 percent to 186,799 units
• Ford F-150 Lightning sales increased 54.74 percent to 24,165 units
• Ford F-Series sales increased 13.83 percent to 726,624 units
• Ford GT sales decreased 68.69 percent to 31 units
• Ford Heavy Trucks sales increased 7.69 percent to 14,580 units
• Ford Maverick sales increased 26.47 percent to 94,058 units
• Ford Mustang sales increased 2.18 percent to 48,605 units
• Ford Mustang Mach-E sales increased 3.33 percent to 40,771 units
• Ford Ranger sales decreased 43.28 percent to 32,334 units
• Ford Transit sales increased 30.64 percent to 121,337 units
• Ford Transit Connect sales decreased 28.20 percent to 18,050 units

Lincoln sales decreased 2.0 percent to 81,818

• Lincoln Aviator sales decreased 29.24 percent to 15,551 units
• Lincoln Corsair sales decreased 11.87 percent to 24,384 units
• Lincoln Nautilus sales increased 17.93 percent to 24,334 units
• Lincoln Navigator sales increased 32.89 percent to 17,549 units
