The 2023 Ford Bronco, like the previous versions before it, will no doubt continue carry the Bronco tradition forward for another year, perhaps with the possibility of new options, colors, or packages. The off-road SUV debuted almost two years ago and launched about one year later, and so far, it’s proven to be a hot commodity. As Ford Authority previously reported, it is now selling in similar volumes as its smaller sibling, and when it reaches dealers, it moves quickly. Until very recently, not much was known about the 2023 model, but information about its order banks and the start of production has trickled out, and it appears aspiring owners still have a little while to go before they can order next iteration of the off-road SUV.

Sources have told Ford Authority that the order banks for the 2023 Ford Bronco will open on August 15th, 2022. Additionally, production of the off-road SUV is expected to commence at the Michigan Assembly plant on October 31st, 2022. It’s important to note that these dates aren’t set in stone yet, but they give us a decent idea of when to expect the forthcoming model year vehicle to drop.

So far, the Blue Oval has kept details on the upcoming Bronco close to the vest, including any changes or additions that will arrive for the 2023 model year. However, we expect it to continue to feature the Ford 2.3L I4 EcoBoost engine with an output of 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, along with the Ford 2.7L V6 EcoBoost, rated at 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The upcoming Ford Bronco Raptor will likely retain the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, capable of 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. We also expect an expanded availability of the Ford Bronco Raptor and Ford Bronco Everglades, if supply chains and production capabilities improve from current levels.

The 2022 Ford Bronco has been sold out since earlier this year, as production issues stemming from the ongoing global microchip shortage continue to impact vehicle supply at the dealer level. In fact, Ford recently elected to withhold Connected Navigation and Built-In Navigation from units of the Bronco bound for dealer stock in order to conserve its limited supply of microchips.

We’ll have more on the 2023 Ford Bronco soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Bronco news and continuous Ford news coverage.

  • Hmm order in August, start building in November, wonder how many months Fords calendar has. Not aware of a major design change that would explain the delay.

  • Can’t wait to order my new Bronco squash. Very excited. Being 70 years old and going thru Kemo I got something to look forward to . Thank you Ford . Been driving Fords for years

    • Hang in there.....I salute your bravery. I am a "survivor' at 77 and waiting to order my '23 Bronco Outer Banks Loaded....
If prayers help, you'll be just fine. We are fortunate to be in these times where our medical community is so committed

      • Thanks Fred . Last chemo this Friday. For all the people ordering and getting mad cancel your orders so i can get mine lol move over . Those who complain always find someone to complain too . Get a Jeep or maybe a moped lmao. Thanks again Fred.

  • I wanted a Bronco because my Dad had one he other ford vehicle to. So I ordered my Bronco with a hard top but was told by sales preson that it would take long time to get it with the hard top so I went with soft top. So I asking will Ford be able to give the customer who changed their hard top at the FORD COMPANY PRICE.

  • I placed a Bronco order in February 2021 and still don’t even have a build date! How can they even thank about taking new orders for 2023? I wouldn’t recommend that anyone place an order, Ford is not meeting any of their commitments and I have bought only Fords since 1990! My next vehicle probably won’t be a Ford! Good luck everyone.

    • I ordered mine 2 years ago and just got it 3 months ago be patient it is well worth the wait

  • I am sure we probably will never receive the Bronco we ordered a long time ago. We're thinking of getting another new Jeep instead.
I am a die hard Ford fan but this is ridiculous.

  • I ordered my 2022 Ford Bronco base 2 door with the automatic as the only option on December 7, 2021. Put $1000 up to ensure the order. Ordered bare minimum hoping for a speedy build date. Noting on build date as of June 1, 2022. Bought a new f150 in 2019. Luckily I have had no issues whatsoever with this truck. It's a keeper. V8 with super cab. Best vehicle I've ever owned. 18 mpg in town 22 highway.

  • I'm a Ford girl thru and thru, I drive a F150 and I've wanted a Bronco since they came out again. My dad had a 2 door and it brings back great memories of riding the back roads. I'm finally able to pay for one outright. I've test drove both the sport and full size. The sport is to small for all my adult friends so I'm looking to get a full size. I found one and I was super excited the sticker price was appx. $55,000 it was an order that someone backed out on. The Beaumont TX dealer decided to jack up the price to $75,165.00 +TT & L and I refuse to pay $25,165 over the price of the vehicle. Even though I want the Bronco over any other type of vehicle, I'm not in the process of test drive all types of SUV's.

  • Ford....please stop giving people false hopes. Just fill your current orders first before you even think about opening up the books again... This news only upsets your loyal customers even more. People are literally waiting years at this point for their Bronco you can't provide. For all you people wanting to put an order in....don't.
