Mysterious New Ford Product Could Be Revealed On June 1st

The Blue Oval isn’t typically cryptic when it comes to unveiling a new Ford product, but the automaker has given little more than minute hints today about one particular mysterious upcoming vehicle.

A new puzzling post on Ford’s Twitter account highlights a set of the automaker’s “favorite emojis lately”, followed by a series of seven pictographs. Then, in a reply to itself, Ford posted “6.1.22”, indicating that the public should pay attention to its page on June 1st for a reveal.

The only similarity we can see among the seven emojis is that they are all the color black. This could be interpreted as confirmation that the exterior color of a potential new Ford product will be black, have the blackout treatment, or could have to do with the name of said product. Then again, the mysterious post could mean something else altogether.

One bet would be that Ford will unveil the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R, especially considering the amount of new information recently leaked about the upcoming super truck. Recently, Ford Authority spied an example of the Raptor R without camo for the first time, so it’s safe to assume the muscle truck will drop fairly soon.

The new Ford product reveal could also be a release of more information regarding the next-generation 2024 Mustang, although that vehicle is not expected to be unveiled until much later, in April 2023. With that in mind, the reveal on June 1st entail a special edition of the 2023 Mustang, which will be the final model year of the current-gen muscle car.

This isn’t the first time Ford has take to Twitter to communicate in an enigmatic fashion. Back in December, the automaker posted a series of EV-related memes to generate a conversation about electric vehicles. “We’ve been trying to get you all comfortable with EVs for a while now, but maybe we were just speaking the wrong language,” the automaker said of this exchange.

We’ll bring you the details on the mysterious new Ford as soon as we have them, and be sure to subscribe to Ford Authority for obsessive Ford news coverage.

  • Ford is introducing all this new product and yet cant deliver on the current offerings. Ive had a 2 door Big Bend Bronco on order for over 7 months now and nothing but crickets. Frustrating

  • Ford, make a real marketing an sales command decision. Move production for the Bronco Sport and the Mavrick Hybrid to the United States. The idle factories you have now could use the jobs, and the labor unions I believe won't be hard to deal with. You've got a problem, and this solution would go a long way to getting vehicles into the hands of people whose already ordered one/paid down for a Maverick Hybrid for instance, and someone like me who wants to buy a Maverick. The Mexican economy might be hurt, our US economy certainly is .... and those people whose ordered/paid down ... with inflation among other issues they could either lose interest in a Maverick, or say forget it, I want my money back.

    • Ford builds more vehicles in the US than anyother brand. There are no idle factories, they are building as many units as they can due to chip and material shortages. If you move the Maverick, say goodbye to the $19995.00 starting price

    • YOU CAN SAY GOODBY ANYWAY, i BELIVE IT ALLREADY IS BEING INCREASED FOR 2023MEVEN THOUGH WE CANT GET OUR 2022 WE ORDERED 8 MONTHS AGO.

  • The symbols look game-related to me. Spade from cards, a chess piece, the X from tic-tac-toe, a whole for corn hole (or golf), etc. Probably not, but I'm bored so why not actually think about it for a minute. That's the best I can come up with.

  • Too bad it's not going to be a Mustang-inspired Lincoln similar to the '84-'91 Mark7. The gentleman's hot rod. Please show us a Lincoln we actual want to drool over and buy.

  • Boy I like what you wrote !!! I have a Maverick ordered 8 months now, and NOTHING !!! I know people that ordered Broncos and Bronco sports and NOTHING !! but they want to buy back my 2019 F-150 at $9,000 over what I paid for it!! I said GREAT, BUT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SELL ME ????????????
