Ford Authority recently spent some time with the 2022 Ford Maverick EcoBoost and subsequently answered your questions about the popular small pickup. During that time, we captured some video of what the stock exhaust system sounds like on cold startup and while revving.
At start-up and idle, the exhaust thrums softly, but it still speaks to the perky Ford 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost engine beneath the hood of the Maverick. The exhaust note gets a bit louder while revving, throwing down a decent growl for a four-cylinder engine. It probably won’t turn many heads, but the driver is sure to find it satisfying.
As a reminder, the boosted four-cylinder is rated at 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque and bolts to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy comes in at an EPA estimated 23 miles-per-gallon in the city, 30 on the highway, and 26 combined.
The MSRP for a base 2022 Ford Maverick EcoBoost, complete with these standard 17-inch steelie-like rollers, is $19,995. This particular Maverick has $2,410 in options, which – combined with the $1,495 delivery fee, brings the total MSRP to $23,900.

Since launching, the Ford Maverick has proven to have a high conquest rate, particularly among former Honda Civic drivers and first-time pickup buyers. The small pickup has collected several notable accolades, including the 2022 Wards 10 Best Interior and UX award, and it has outsold the larger Ford Ranger by a landslide in recent months, the latter being a result of Ford prioritizing Bronco production over that of the Ranger at the Michigan Assembly Plant.
The Maverick, which is made at the Ford Hermosillo plant in Mexico, has also been dominating its competitive segment, outselling the Hyundai Santa Cruz by an absolute landslide in the first quarter of 2022.

smh... they apologized for the "pulsating" but didnt for putting background music in a video whose sole purpose and description is relaying the sound of the exhaust.

Sounds like an overworked sewing machine, actually. But I'm no fan of any exhaust noise and I bought the hybrid instead which seems much more quiet generally plus it's getting much better gas mileage for me.
I received delivery on my F-150 King Ranch FX-4 Hybrid on 7-28-2021 and had 24.34 mpg for the 1st 2,540 miles, at that point I started pulling a 8,000 pound travel trailer. I hope you are as happy with your F-150 hybrid as I am with mine.
It has utility but I still want a short cab, long bed in a small truck.
