Ford Brazil sales decreased one percent to 1,457 units in January 2023 compared to January 2022 results. The results place The Blue Oval as the 12th best-selling automobile brand in the country.
Individual model sales performance was as follows:
| MODEL | JAN 2023 / JAN 2022 | JANUARY 2023 | JANUARY 2022 |
|---|---|---|---|
| MAVERICK | * | 79 | * |
| MUSTANG | -45.83% | 26 | 48 |

Ford Brazil sales began the 2023 calendar year with a slight but notable drop in January, which represents the third consecutive month of contraction for the brand in the South American country. Ford's poor performance contrasts with the healthy growth during January of Brazilian auto market, and the leading brands that are present in it.
FoMoCo Brazil's weak performance in January was caused by notable sales declines for most models, including the best-selling Ford Ranger. The midsize pickup continued to lose momentum and once again registered a sales volume of less than 1,000 units per month.
In addition, sales of both the Ford Transit and Ford Maverick were also in the red on a year-over-year basis, failing to turn around The Blue Oval's overall performance.
