2023 Ford Maverick Production To End In October

Since its launch for the 2022 model year, the Ford Maverick has easily been one of the most sought-after new vehicles on the planet – which is both a good and bad thing in some regards. The Maverick’s immense popularity is great news for FoMoCo, but at the same time, the automaker has struggled to keep up with demand, as many reservation/order holders are facing long waits before taking delivery. That’s certainly still true today, well into the compact pickup’s second model year, and now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority when 2023 Ford Maverick production will end.

2023 Ford Maverick production at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico is currently scheduled to end this coming October after it initially began back in November of 2022. This timeline matches up closely with 2022 model year production, though as is always the case – these dates are subject to change, particularly so given the many ongoing supply chain constraints that automakers such as Ford are still facing. Regardless, FoMoCo is working to ramp up Maverick production, and plans to add a third shift at the Hermosillo plant this coming July to help in that regard.

The 2023 Ford Maverick launched with a handful of changes for the new model year, including the introduction of the new Tremor Off-Road PackageTremor Off-Road Appearance Package, and Black Appearance Package. The compact pickup did get a noticeable price hike across the board, however.

In the meantime, the Maverick continues to win over both consumers and critics alike, with the hybrid model consistently ranking among the most considered electrified vehicles on Kelley Blue Book’s quarterly Brand Watch report while also making the cut as one of Consumer Reports’ top 10 vehicles for 2023.

We’ll have more on the 2023 Ford Maverick soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Maverick news and continuous Ford news coverage.

  • Did you just hear the buzzword woke and think this applies to everything? what's "woke" about EV? You sound more butthurt, look that one up.

  • Talk to me like I’m 5 does this mean after October Maverick its over and done? Like no more even with all these demand?

    • It means that they will roll to a 24 model year, likely with a very short order window again.

      • So to be clear it just means the order window is short again not that they are canceling this vehicle

  • I just got my hybrid Maverick after a 17 month wait and have been averaging 40 mpg ,worth the wait.

    • My October 14th 2021 order finally came in February 2023, I fully agree that it's worth the wait. Such a well executed truck. XL hybrid, I'm completely satisfied with it in every way.

    • Agreed. I waited 18 months but at nearly 600 miles to a tank a gas it’s worth it. Even if Michael does think I’m woke. 😜

  • At least the significant price hikes should relieve some of the pressure on meeting demand. Ridiculous dealer markups accomplish the same thing, just in a more underhanded way.

  • Received my Ford Maverick on Mar 3, 2023 after a 20 month wait. Got 530 miles on first tank of gas and looks second tank is going to do same. Well worth the wait.

  • Ordered my Maverick XL hybrid on Sept.18th, 2023 and received my scheduled for production email last Thursday!! A few months ago Ford had encouraged those of us who ordered a hybrid to switch to an EcoBoost or risk not getting a Maverick built this year because of the high demand for Hybrids. I damn near switched my order but decided to hang on a little longer and it has paid off!! I can't wait to get it! BELIEVE!!

    • how did you order your maverick in the future? Did you mean Sep 18 2022? Telling us that you received your scheduled for production email doesn't mean anything to us. We need to know when Ford is estimating that your vehicle will be ready? Basically we need to know how many months from when you ordered it to when it's scheduled for delivery. Thanks

  • Got mine after six month wait - well worth it! Woke technology blew most of the maggots out of the tail pipe. No matter who or what you are on this planet, this IS a very well designed vehicle.

  • I have a question for all of you that have received your truck.
Are any of taller than 6ft 4? How comfortable are you in the truck? Ford is notorious for building vehicles where the seat doesn’t go back far enough how about this truck?
    Thanks all who answered

    • How did Ford build such a great vehicle? Did the Japanese help them? I guess there is a first time for everything...

    • Look up Maverick Truck Club forum and I believe there are some tall members who can answer your question.

    • I'm 6'6" 265 lbs and have not received mine yet but I was able to test drive and I fit very well. So unless there are changes from the 2022 that I'm not aware of you should be good. Seat and wheel had good adjustability.
