Ford Motor Company Mexico sales continue to be negative, having started the year with a contraction in January. The slight decline represents the fifth consecutive fall for the carmaker in the domestic market of the Latin American country, where it has not managed to recover and continues to lose market share.
FoMoCo Mexico’s January drop is directly related to the poor performance of the Ford F-Series. Ford’s full-size truck suffered the most significant year-over-year contraction, subtracting almost 170 units from the company’s overall volume, taking it away from the top spot in Ford’s best-sellers.
In contrast, the Ford Territory managed to exe out a solid gain during the month, establishing itself as the best-selling vehicle of the automaker in the Mexican market. Additionally, the strong growth of the Ford Ranger in January also stands out, as it drastically improved its performance and positioned itself as one of the most popular recreational medium pickups in its class.
