U.S. Ford Motor Company Sales Down One Percent In Q1 2025

Ford Motor Company sales decreased one percent to 501,291 units during first quarter of 2025 in the United States. Sales decreased at Ford and Lincoln.

“Ford Motor Company’s commitment to offering customers a wide range of powertrains across its lineup of work, adventure and performance vehicles helped the company deliver record-breaking sales for electrified vehicles and its best first-quarter pickup sales in more than 20 years,” said Ford. “F-Series, along with the popular Ranger and Maverick, together lifted Ford’s total pickup sales to 243,317 in the first quarter,” the company added.

FoMoCo Sales Notes – U.S. Q1 2025

  • Total Ford Motor Company sales during first quarter of 2025 decreased 1.3 percent to 501,291 units
    • Truck sales increased 15.0 percent to 290,387 units
    • SUV sales decreased 16.7 percent to 201,527 units
    • Car sales decreased 31.6 percent to 9,377 units
    • Electric vehicle sales totaled 22,550 units, up 11.5 percent
    • Hybrid vehicle sales totaled 51,073 units, up 32.9 percent
    • Internal combustion sales totaled 427,668 units, down 4.8 percent
  • Ford Motor Company U.S. retail sales rose 5 percent in the first quarter propelled by a 19 percent retail increase in March
  • Ford F-Series continues as the America’s No. 1 truck seller
  • Ford electrified vehicle sales start the year totaling a record 73,623 in the first quarter – up 26 percent – led by a record start for hybrids and electric vehicles, up 33 percent and 12 percent respectively
  • Sales of off-road performance vehicles grew 20% in the first quarter, led by a 35 percent increase in Bronco sales
