With the recent reveal of the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 this past September, it's only a matter of months before the current model bows out of the Blue Oval lineup. That means a changeover at the Dearborn Truck plant and Kansas City Assembly plant - both of which produce the Ford F-150 - and it also means that it's worth keeping an eye on production figures for the perennially best-selling pickup. In that regard, production of the Ford F-150 actually decreased in November, according to the automaker's latest sales report.
Back in September, Ford F-150 production at both plants grew by 28 percent or 11,413 units month-over-month, from 40,751 to 52,164 pickups, and in October, increased by from 52,164 to 58,241 units, a difference of 6,077 units or 11.6 percent. However, in November, Ford F-150 production at the Dearborn plant declined from 26,562 to 21,873 units month-over-month or 17.6 percent, and from 31,679 to 26,749 units for a 15.5 percent drop in Kansas City. That means total F-150 production declined from 58,241 to 48,622 units overall last month versus October, which represents a 16.5 percent drop.
Meanwhile, production of the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 is scheduled to begin on December 18th at the Dearborn Truck plant, though as always, that date is subject to change. This also applies to the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning at the nearby Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, but not the Kansas City Assembly plant.
Along with updated exterior styling, the 2024 Ford F-150 gets a few revisions to its trim level lineup, a new badge, the 12-inch infotainment screen as standard equipment, the newly available Pro Access Tailgate as an option, and the previously-standard 3.3L V6 is gone, replaced by the turbocharged 2.7L V6 EcoBoost across the lineup. In an effort to boost sales, the 3.5L V6 PowerBoost hybrid is now a no-cost option over the standard, twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost, too.
