Ford Colombia sales slight growth in May continued to expand the brand’s momentum in the country, where Ford has accumulated a remarkable streak of eight consecutive months of growth. As such, the Blue Oval once again contrasted with the poor performance of the Colombian automotive market during the past month.
As in previous months, the Ford Escape was the main protagonist in the brand’s success story and was also the model that helped tip the balance in a positive direction. The compact crossover once again achieved a highest triple-digit growth rate and increased the number of units by more than six times year-over-year.
This contrasts with the massive decline of the Ford Ranger, which registered a significant double-digit drop and lost a notable volume of 153 units year-over-year. The midsize pickup continues to struggle commercially in Colombia despite the introduction of redesigned model. The F-Series truck line also suffered a high loss during the month.
One street takeover we can condone.
