Ford Transit sales continued to lead the segment in Q3 2022, outperforming all of its rivals by a significant margin. However, despite maintaining first place, it’s important to note that sales of the Transit have been negatively impacted by issues stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic along with the ongoing global microchip shortage, which continues to affect the automotive industry as a whole. These impacts are especially evident in the year-to-date sales figures, in which Ford Transit sales and the segment as a whole are down 13 percent.
It’s also worth noting that sales of the new all-electric E-Transit are adding incremental numbers to the Transit’s already healthy performance. Additionally, Ford will soon expand the Transit range to include the upcoming Transit Trail model. Originally revealed for the European market back in June of 2020, the Transit Trail is a more rugged, off-road focused variant of The Blue Oval’s best-seller that made its debut in November.
Going forward, we expect the Transit to continue leading the segment, both in terms of sales and market share, despite ongoing attempts by the competition to chip away at its dominant position. It is also worth noting that Nissan’s withdrawal gives Ford the opportunity to even further conquer the Japanese automaker’s (relatively small) customer base and associated sales volume.

On the Ford transit article, it's sad, the 2023 order back was already filled back In November . I work for a local school district and when we had money budgeted for fiscal year we have to wait till October to receive final budget call dealer get told order bank closed already you would have to wait for the 2024 model
Whats the latest info on the 2023 transit trail?
Ford is doing great things with its Transit and it deserves to lead. Really looking forward to the Trail.
It's remarkable, though, to see the Chevy Express/GMC Savana almost match Ford's numbers when they are combined together - as they should be as they are the same vehicle.
That's a testament to a very reliable vehicle which can tow much more but which is so lacking in a high roof and other options.
