Ford CEO Jim Farley has been quite clear that he believes the automaker's current ICE lineup is far too complex, making it a point to note that future models will be simpler, which is not only one way to boost the company's profitability, but improve quality and also make things a bit easier on consumers. We've already seen this shift begin to happen with the 2023 Ford F-150 - which dropped some configurations for the current year - with the 2024 model year set to bring about even more of a reduction in complexity as the automaker aims to have "best in class" quality across its Ford Blue lineup. As Ford Blue president Kumar Galhotra recently explained to Automotive News, we'll see even more of this in the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150, too.
"In the coming months, we're going to reduce the orderable combinations on the F-150 by a magnitude that we've never seen before," Galhotra said. "Less complexity means fewer parts. From one model year to another, we're taking about 2,400 parts out of the F-150. That means many fewer parts to engineer, test and manage quality on."
Aside from this reduction in complexity, the 2024 Ford F-150 will bring forth a mid-cycle refresh with a number of notable changes. Ford Authority first spotted a 2024 F-150 prototype out driving around back in early December 2022, and since then, we've also come across revised versions of the Ford F-150 Raptor R and Tremor, as well as Ford benchmarking the Chevy Silverado against its forthcoming pickup.
As for what we can expect from the 2024 Ford F-150, we do know that it will utilize a few styling tweaks including a new taillight design, as well as 22-inch wheels - which were previously spied on a prototype - and possibly a multi-function tailgate. Inside the cabin, a few changes are in store as well, as Ford Authority has thus far spied prototypes equipped with two different infotainment screens - one horizontally-oriented, and the other mounted vertically.
We'll have more on the 2024 Ford F-150 soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford F-Series news, Ford F-150 news, and continuous Ford news coverage.

I really love the method used by the ford ceo and family the technology put together to build our ford product thank once again
Ford tried this in good idea in theory in Europe recently.
Power trains deleted, features deleted, options reduced or made compulsory adding cost.
It cheesed buyers off and impacted sales. I guess the message didnt reach the mother country.
I'd be happy if they just got the parts to offer the options they have now. Thanks Biden for killing off half the options on my sticker with your DoD Mayor Pete today can't figure out how a supply chain is supposed to work 3 years after COVID.
This may be the dumbest this Ford has ever done. This amount of parts has to include fasteners. What are going to do take out 2400 relays? So for the first time ever F150's will rattle like all Chevy pickups.
Patrick Ford would be a terrible hire lol
Excellent comment
So... you're an expert on vehicle design and engineering? If it was left to customers, vehicle manufacturers would have to have 1,000 separate options available. That's a completely dumb business model. Maybe they'd be better off going the opposite. Have 2 or 3 major variations (Raptor, Work, Lariat, etc.) with maximum options available through a limited number of option packages for each, then allow select options to be deleted. If I was in charge, no truck would leave the assembly plant with a "moonroof". They are useless and a guaranteed point of failure.
Once again copying GM, only this time, making a giant leap backwards. GM has been grouping “packages” forever to force buyers to get more than they want and need.
I wonder what options they dropped like the heated steering wheel. Usually when they talk about dropping the piece part count it usually means more plastic molded parts as the way to reduce the number or pieces.
.
I wish Ford would spend more time improving the electrical portion of the drive train, and less time on entertainment gadgets that stop functioning just after the warranty expires.
This is the worst leadership team and I particular President Ford has ever had. The incredible amount of options Ford offered made the F-150 “the truck” for the largest number of possible buyers. I could count on getting a pickup that fit my “desires” and needs. I’ve watched in dismay as Ford destroys the company with progressive elitist ideology. The current Ford President is an elitist. His Harvard indoctrination has made him incapable of understanding the pickup truck drivers. He sees fewer options and forcing us into electric disposable vehicles that cost $110,000 as a way to ensure most of us end up in cars or mass transit. The Lightning is a complete financial failure and so is the next version they are developing. His doubling down electric vehicles will ensure Ford goes bankrupt which is what he ultimately wants. The bankruptcy will wipe out union contracts, allow them to divest of the gasoline and diesel factories and leave them with the much smaller electric car company producing vehicles that have far less range and towing capabilities.
Yep. I like the current Chevy but cannot get what I want in a configuration. I tried to build a high country with 20” wheels, max trailer package, and the full technology package. If you choose the max trailer it always kills the top technology package. If you choose top technology package it forces you into a 22” wheel.
Interior colors are ok. The two tone blank and brown looks really cheap in comparison to Ford and Ram. But I really like the new dash configuration.
Ford… well that’s what sim currently driving. I’ve always bought ford because I could order exactly what I want. My biggest complaint is the top trim levels like platinum, king ranch and limited have fewer paint color options than the XLT.
