Ford Mustang family sales decreased in the United States and Mexico during the first quarter of 2023.
Cumulative deliveries of the Ford Mustang family in the United States decreased three percent to 20,118 units in Q1 2023, comprised of:
It’s highly likely that sales of the regular Mustang continued to slide during Q1 2023 due to constrained availability as a result of ongoing supply chain issues.

Cumulative deliveries of the Ford Mustang family in Mexico decreased 34 percent to 113 units in Q1 2023, comprised of:

The uptick in sales of the “regular” Mustang indicates that supplier bottlenecks may finally be evening out, allowing FoMoCo’s production to keep up with demand for its pony car.
However, it’s important to note that the 2023 Mustang will get a relatively limited production run, which, in turn, could negatively affect its sales. In fact, order books for the 2023 model year closed several months ago on December 5th, 2022 and production on the S550 concluded last month as part of the generational changeover. It is also possible that sales temporarily increased due to dealers being more willing to make a deal in light of the model being a lame duck vehicle.
As for the Mustang Mach-E, zero units of the Mustang Mach-E were built at the Cuautitlan Assembly plant line in January 2023, but the shutdown was planned in advance so Ford could focus on expanding the facility’s production capacity for the future. The lack of Mustang Mach-E supply certainly had a negative effect on its sales, but now that production has picked back up, sales may reflect increased supply throughout the rest of the calendar year.
The Ford Mustang family is currently comprised of two distinct models:
Currently riding on the Ford S550 platform, the 2023 Ford Mustang marks the final for the pony car’s sixth generation. It’s built at the Ford Flat Rock plant in Michigan. The pony car’s engine lineup varies by trim level, and is comprised of the following ICE options:
It’s important to note that the GT500 has been discontinued for the 2023 model year, one of just a handful of changes and updates. Additionally, the 2024 Ford Mustang is inbound, representing a full generational shift and complete overhaul from the inside out.
Unlike the “traditional” Mustang range, the Mustang Mach-E rides on the Ford GE1 platform, which was created specifically for the Mach-E and will also underpin other electric vehicles. The architecture is loosely based on the Ford C2 platform, but features significant differences.
Manufactured solely at the Ford Cuautitlan Assembly Plant in Mexico, the Mach-E offers two battery options: the Standard Range Battery (72 kWh of usable energy and 250 estimated miles of range) and Extended Range Battery (91 kWh of usable energy and 303 estimated miles of range). The 2023 Mach-E lineup consists of:
It’s worth noting that the rear-wheel-drive California Route 1 has been discontinued for the 2023 model year.
The pony car just received a $5,000 price increase last month.
It enjoyed a large year-over-year increase, too.
Supported by production in Canada.
It's one of just five built in total.

Understandable that Mustang sales are down. Same old crap styling. The *New* 2024 is just a warmed over version of the 2015 - 2023 styling. Ford was on the right track with the 05-14 Stangs.
