By comparison, shares of General Motors increased in value by $2.78, or five percent, during the same timeframe.

The increase in Ford share value during the week follows a five percent increase from last week, which in turn followed a six percent drop during the preceding five day trading period.

Ford announced the Universal EV Platform during the week, a new architecture that will underpin its smaller lineup of second generation EVs. The platform will be installed at Louisville Assembly Plant and is expected to be operational by 2028.

Ford share values are 15 percent higher when compared to the first day of trading in 2025. Wall Street continues to grapple with how it should evaluate legacy automakers in the wake of the ongoing EV transition. Additionally, the tariffs enacted the Trump administration have also upended any expectations about Ford stock in 2025. That said, Ford has frequently shifted its EV product plans and goals, likely adding to skepticism from investors. It has now settled on an “everything for everyone” approach to its lineup that gives buyers a choice between gas, hybrid, and all-electric vehicles.
