Ford Transit sales increased in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile, but decreased in Argentina during the fourth quarter of 2024.

The full-size, internal combustion engine (ICE) van segment expanded 19 percent moving 89,501 units during Q4 2024, meaning Ford Transit sales slightly outperformed the segment average.
As has been the case since its launch over a decade ago, the Ford Transit remains far and away the sales leader in its competitive set, outpacing the segment average this quarter and for all of 2024. Meanwhile, combined sales of the Transit and the E-Series gave The Blue Oval an even more dominant position during Q4.
This compares favorably to GM’s duo, the Chevy Express and GMC Savana, which are old vehicles that date back to the 1990s. In fact, the GM vans are the oldest models in their segment, while also being the oldest GM vehicles currently in production.
The dominant performance of the Transit is great news for The Blue Oval, since Transit represents a big part of its Ford Pro (commercial) business.
The Ford Transit is offered in Cargo, Passenger, or Cutaway form factors, and in various wheelbases or roof heights.
The Transit Trail variant joined Ford’s full-size van lineup for the 2023 model year, which is an upfit-ready off-road-oriented van that is geared toward the van and outdoor life enthusiast. However, the Transit Trail was recently discontinued due to “supply issues.”
Production of the 2025 Ford Transit commence in January at the Kansas City Assembly plant.
