Ford Brazil sales suffered another notable decline in December 2020, which has taken place during each of the twelve months of the 2020 calendar year. In fact, Ford sold fewer units in December than it did in November, which is in stark contrast to what has taken place with most automobile brands in Brazil during the same month.
This prolonged depressed performance was what prompted FoMoCo to announce on Monday, January 11th, 2021 that it plans to cease manufacturing operations in Brazil. The move will sharply reduce The Blue Oval’s sales volume and associated market share in that country.
Only two imported vehicles, the Ford Ranger and Mustang, managed to increase their sales during December. Additionally, the new Chinese-made and engineered Ford Territory posted the second-best performance of its first four months in the Brazilian market.
Not terribly surprising, given its past performance.
The two companies have pooled resources on numerous occasions.
It remained with the original owner until earlier this year.
It's one of several new carbon parts for the pony car.
A year later than previously expected.
Expanding that lineup yet again.
