Ford Motor Company Mexico sales in June further extended the company’s streak in the Latin American country, where the American company continues to expand its market share. As such, last month’s strong result represents FoMoCo’s 16th consecutive monthly increase in the Mexican market.
Although a majority of the company’s models saw sales decline in June – including the high-volume Ford Territory, Ford Motor Company’s overall growth in Mexico was led by substantial increases from several key nameplates. The Ford F-Series was the main driver, with a significant double-digit increase and 418 additional units, making it the company’s best-selling model in Mexico for the second consecutive month.
Also notable is the significant double-digit increase of the Ford Ranger, which added 132 units year-over-year, as well as the dramatic four-digit rise of the all-new Ford Mustang. The redesigned pony car continues to increase gain traction with Mexican customers, leading its segment by a wide margin and tripling its cumulative sales in the first half of the year.
It lost some ground to its cross-town rival in recent months, however.
A rather bizarre incident, indeed.
