Ford Brazil sales decreased 12 percent to 14,397 units in March 2020 compared to March 2019 results.
It’s worth noting that the Brazilian government announced a mandatory quarantine in the middle of March to contain the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. As such, the negative performance in Ford sales during March is in line with results of the country’s automobile industry.
In contrast to Ford’s negative performance on a cumulative basis, Ford Mustang and Ranger sales posted healthy double-digit increases, as a result of greater availability of these two imported products.

During the first three months of the 2020 calendar year, Ford Brazil sales decreased 9 percent to 43,904 units.
