I just read what looks like your follow up in Ford Transit Connect USA, that is great news! C. A. Russell Ford in Springville, Alabama told me the same thing. I was wondering about the point you made before in saying “Plus we’ve already run two tank fills of the eFuels in the van without issue, other than learning that we can’t top it off with just 10.00 or it will send a lean code”.

Did you ever figure this out? I just bought a 2023 Ford Transit Connect with the 2.0 engine and have been similarly told conflicting things and after talking to Ford in Springville, Alabama and then looking at used engine websites, I have a strong feeling that if there is no software needed to optimize up to E85 fuel, it should be fine to use up to E85. EFlexFuel support said the 2023 FTC with the 2.0 is already Flexfuel compatible and added that every gasoline vehicle after 1990 is at least able to have E85 run through it without damaging anything.

I get a stronger suspicion the more I look into this – especially after what you said – that Ford just charges you for a Flexfuel upgrade, pops on the yellow fill hole, and calls it a day.
