Ford Argentina sales decreased five percent to 2,354 units in November 2022 compared to November 2021 results. The figures place Ford as the seventh best-selling car brand in Argentina, behind Toyota, Renault, Volkswagen, Fiat, Peugeot and Chevrolet.

After experiencing a slight increase in October, Ford Argentina sales were in the red in November. The Blue Oval brand’s intermittent behavior in the Argentine market once again tilted to the negative side last month, likely as a result of lower unit availability in dealerships.
The drop in Ford Argentina sales in November is directly related to the sales decrease of the best-selling Ford Ranger, which is manufactured locally in the Latin country. After experiencing a healthy increase over the previous month, the midsize pickup once again saw a drop in deliveries, joining the majority of Ford models.
Only the Ford Kuga and Transit were in the green in November in Argentina thanks to noteworthy four-digit increases. The most prominent of these was the Transit. Even so, the full-size van saw noticeably lower registrations than in previous months.

How much money does Ford lose being in these very small market?
Ford SA was losing millions per year on locally produced vehicles.
Now that Brazilian production has been shuttered, Ford will move to a premium import strategy.
Obviously the plan is to make money this way.
