The Q3 2022 sales performance gives the Bronco Sport a four percent segment share, flat on a year-over-year basis. At the top of the board, the RAV4 commanded an 18 percent share, up one percentage point, while the CR-V accounted for 11 percent share, down three percentage points, followed by the Equinox with eight percent share, up two percentage points. The Rogue also accounted for eight percent segment segment, up one percentage point, while the Tucson and the Sportage each accounted for seven percent; the former experienced an increase of one percentage point while the latter increased two percentage points. The Escape, meanwhile, commanded six percent share, up one percentage point, as did the CX-5, down two percentage points. All other competitors, including the Ford Bronco Sport, accounted for five percent segment share or less.
It is important to note that FoMoCo now fields two vehicles in this segment: the Escape and the Bronco Sport. Combining sales of both models gives The Blue Oval 56,818 deliveries, good for 10 percent share. The performance slots The Blue Oval just behind the CR-V in terms of segment share.

The compact mainstream crossover segment expanded six percent to 562,187 units in Q3 2022, meaning Ford Bronco Sport sales slightly underperformed the segment average during the quarter.
Ford Bronco Sport sales during the third quarter recorded healthy growth, though it seems that even this volume was constrained by ongoing supplier issues, including the well-publicized microchip shortage. Ongoing supplier issues have strained The Blue Oval’s production capacities, resulting in a scenario where there are simply not enough vehicles to satisfy consumer demand.
Additionally, the Bronco Sport continues to garner positive attention, and has been recognized as one of the fastest-selling used cars, with prices for pre-owned examples trending higher than the price tags of new models. Both elements show true market demand for the Bronco Sport.
While the Ford Bronco Sport has been recognized as an exemplary vehicle by Consumer Reports in the past, even making its recommended vehicles list and being named one of the best SUVs on the market below $30,000, the publication recently dinged the compact crossover over quality issues. CR highlighted common Bronco Sport issues such as leaky oil plugs and brake problems, although this does not seem to have had a negative impact on Ford Bronco Sport sales, at least thus far.
Certainly not something we see every day.
Changes to the passenger's seat, but not the driver's.
It appeared in a movie and a TV series.

Less quality in the vehicle = less vehicle sales.
the big questions is how many where produced?
if they made 22k and sold 21.5k then that's good, vs if they made 25k and only sold 21.5k
Ford needs to lower the price the Bronco Sport - it's priced at the high end in the segment.
Interesting the Equinox sells almost 50% more than the Escape - where as the Escape is a newer model than the Equinox.
The Broncos Sport needs a serious rethink. Ditch the gasping 3 cylinder and replace it with the 4 cylinder / hybrid from the Meverick. (If you can ever get the required components) Make front wheel drive standard. While I understand it's marketed as an light off road vehicle, many will never use it as such. Many just want the rugged looks.
Agreed 100%. The Bronco Sport is at the top of my new car list, but I won’t pull the trigger until it’s available in a Hybrid or EV. I’ll never purchase another ICE vehicle again.
I think you are spot on. The market for this vehicle screams for a hybrid front-wheel drive.
Most people won’t have major issues, but when a certain percentage do, it becomes an unreliable vehicle. This Ford product, and others, have exceeded that percentage
I am not sure I put Ford Bronco Sport in the same category as the Rav4 and CRV and all other "egg shaped" paved road SUVs. As stated above, give it more horsepower and allow for hybrid/phev options and I think it will do fine. Driving into Philly the other day I saw many Bronco Sports parked all over the place.
Eco29575. You are 100% right. Ford can’t get allocation to dealers. Ford raised pricing thousands since intro (Ford shoring up prices for next stock hit) Dealers do not have inventory. Ford lease programs suck. (Ford creating profit for Ford Credit) Credit unions not much better payment with Equinox much lower monthly payment. Thank god for Ford the RAV 4 monthly lease payment on a similarly equipped to a B/Sport is also priced too high. Then there is quality. Never have seen quality so bad as in the last few years. Just gets worse. Meanwhile, Chris Farley’s cousin should move out of Dearborn and go live in a van near the river. Stop misdirecting media against Dealers. It’s your fault. Pure misdirection and mismanagement.
Farley is too busy playing Boy-Racer to pay attention to product quality. Ford continues to suffer glitches that don't seem to affect others . Electric powered curb feelers will be ever replace a solid reliable platform.....pay attention to keeping the basics right...you might get as good as Toyota . Or...get Mullaley back
Need to offer the four-cylinder Turbo in all models
Shouldn't Jeep Compass be listed in second spot behind the RAV4 in sales numbers? Not sure how accurate these numbers are but another article had the Compass 2022 Q2 sales at 50k. Poor forgotten Jeep Compass. :(
